A "Day in the Life" is a shadow day designed to provide students and hockey players like yourself with a firsthand experience of what it truly means to be a part of our prestigious academy. Throughout the day, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in our comprehensive program and get a taste of the unparalleled training and education we offer.

Please come prepared with your hockey gear and a positive attitude as you engage in high-level training sessions. Gain insights from our esteemed coaching staff, and discover the academic excellence we foster at PREP School.

Justin Solcz ​​
General Manager 

Justin started his coaching career in 2006-07 when he spent two years with the St Clair Saints before moving to the University of Windsor, where he served as an assistant coach for seven seasons, culminating in a Queens Cup in 2013-14. Justin moved into junior hockey in 2015-16 taking over the Lakeshore Canadians of the PJHL, before returning to the University for a season as Associate Head Coach. Since 2018-19, Justin has served as General Manager of the Leamington Flyers, building the program into a GOJHL powerhouse that has sent six players to D1 universities and capturing the 2022-23 Sutherland Cup, a first in franchise history. He is also the Co-owner/Business Manager of Powertech Hockey. 

Matt Dumouchelle 
Assistant General Manager 
Matt worked 10 years in radio broadcasting before joining the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada as Director of Basketball Operations, where he won two NBL Championships in 2013-14 and 2014-15. He joined the Amherstburg Admirals of the PJHL for two seasons as Assistant General Manager, before taking on a similar role with the Lakeshore Canadiens in the 2017 season. Matt has been the Assistant General Manager of the Leamington Flyers since the 2019-2020 season. Matt also writes a feature series for TheCoachesSite.com entitled “Hockey Factories”, where he profiles some of the best hockey development programs around the world. 

Justin Buzzeo
Headof Hockey Operations / U18 Head Coach

Windsor native, Justin Buzzeo returns home after a six year professional career to serve as Head Coach of the U18 program at A21. Buzzeo played minor hockey with Windsor AAA before spending his junior career locally with the Tecumseh Chiefs and Chatham Maroons. In 2009-10, Buzzeo went to play in the SJHL for the Homboldt Broncos. Justin played NCAA D1 hockey with the Ferris State Bulldogs from 2011-2015 under legendary coach Bob Daniels. His pro hockey career started with the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL before leaving for Europe to play in Austria, Germany, England and Slovakia. Buzzeo returned to the ECHL for the 2019-20 season to play for the Toledo Walleye.

Matt Anthony
​Goaltending Coach

Matt Anthony is one of the most well respected goaltending coaches in Southwestern Ontario. Hailing from Wheatley, Matt played parts of three seasons with the Windsor Spitfires before a three year CIS career at Dalhousie. After school, Matt left to play professionally in the Netherlands, compiling over 120 games with Eindhoven Kemphanen from 2008-2011. He returned to North America in 2011 to join the 1000 Island Privateers of the Federal Hockey League, also making stops with Watertown and Danville. Matt has been the Goaltending Coach with the Leamington Flyers since the 2016-17 season. 

Thomas Luxik
Player Development Coach & Mentor

After starting his hockey journey in the Czech Republic, Luxik spent his 2005-06 season with Belle Tire U18 in MI before jumping to the Leamington Flyers lineup in 2006-07, where he played two seasons. In 2009-10, he played at Eastern Michigan University. Known as one of the best skating and skills coaches in the area, Luxik he has previously been hired as an International Skills Coach to work with national teams in the Czech Republic, and Germany. Luxik also owns Elusive Hockey, high performance training. 

Dale Mitchell
Player Development Coach & Mentor

An Etobicoke native, Mitchell became a fan favourite in Windsor when he was traded from the Oshawa Generals to the Spitfires for the 2008-09 season. With Windsor, Mitchell won back to back OHL Championships and back to back Memorial Cups. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2007 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs and played over 50 games with the club’s AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. Mitchell also spent years with Reading, San Francisco and South Carolina in the ECHL before going to Europe. All told, Mitchell played 8 pro seasons overseas, most with the Odense Bulldogs in Denmark from 2014-15 to 2020-21. In two of those seasons, Mitchell was the leading scorer of the Danish League. He also suited up for the Dresdner Eislowen in Germany’s second league. After his playing career, Mitchell took to coaching and has been the Head Coach with the Leamington Flyers the last two seasons, leading them to a Sutherland Cup victory in 2022-23. 

Greg Day
Player Development Coach & Mentor
Greg Day is a familiar face to anyone who has been around A21 Academy. Day has been an Assistant Coach within the program since 2019-20, coaching at the U16 and U18 levels. Day played his junior hockey with the Tecumseh Chiefs and Chatham Maroons before embarking on a four year collegiate run at Bowling Green State University. He played 30 games in the AHL and nearly 100 in the ECHL before heading to Europe, where he played from 2004-2014. Day’s stops included nearly 400 games in the EBEL, mostly in Austria with the Graz99ers. He also won a league championship in France and Italy. 

Kyle Makaric 
Player Development Coach & Mentor
Makaric spent his playing days with the Kingsville Comets of the Great Lakes Jr C Hockey League, before three seasons with the Chatham Maroons and a three year stint with the U of Windsor Lancers. Makaric would coach the Windsor AAA U18 team from 2013-2017 before returning to his roots as a player, coaching one year with the University of Windsor as an assistant in 2017-18 and as the Head Coach of the Chatham Maroons from 2018-2020. After another year as an assistant at the U of W, Makaric moved to the head coaching role with the Ottawa Jr Senators of the CCHL, where he has won back to back Bogart Cups. 

Eric Palazollo 
Strength, Conditioning & Nutrition Director
Eric is a former USports varsity hockey player and graduate of the Honours Electrical Engineering program from the University of Windsor. Through his collegiate career, he was awarded several scholarships for outstanding athletic and academic achievement including 3-time USports All-Canadian Academic Team honours. Holding a unique skillset from his background in academia and high level hockey, Eric combines scientific concepts and personal experience in his approach to off-ice development in training, nutrition and recovery, to build high quality players, and people.
